PIMEC and the Department for Education sign an agreement to highlight continuous training for workers of SMEs and bring them closer to the initial professional training
Today PIMEC signed an agreement with the Department for Education, within the framework of the Qualifica’t programme, which will allow workers from SMEs to participate in continuous training actions which have been promoted by PIMEC and achieve academic certifications from the Department for Education. This is one of the most recent actions which the employers’ organisation has implemented to promote and improve workers’ academic qualifications. The agreement has been undersigned by Josep Francí y Carrete, director general of Professional, Artistic and Specialised Education of the Department for Education and Alejandro Goñi, president of PIMEC Comercio and member of the Executive Committee.
The workers who participate in the continuous training sessions developed through this agreement, and pass the tests, will receive the normal certification, as well as more training of academic validity of the module or credit of the corresponding initial professional training title. This will allow workers to complete their academic curriculum, at the same time as they are provided with training in the specialties which the different sectors require.
This agreement will also include classes taught by teachers who work in the education system, within specific training departments for working people, making the most of the resources the education system has to offer. The courses can be held in the institutions, in PIMEC’s facilities or in its guilds and associations, as well as in the businesses’ facilities.
Training Itinerary Auxiliary Sales Operations
One of the first courses which PIMEC is promoting within the framework of this agreement is the Training itinerary Auxiliary Sales Operations, lasting 140 hours, which is expected to be held at the Instituto Poblenou in Barcelona, and is aimed at people who work within the commercial sector. The students who take and pass the course will receive a certification from the Department for Education and the Servei d’Ocupació de Catalunya, as these courses are part of a certification of professionalism. This the first time that an integration experience for professional training providing dual certification is carried out within the Commercial sector.
