PIMEC's Labour Relations and Social Policies Department carried out the following tasks and activities in the heart of the business confederation:
- Analysis study of the wide range of subjects and themes related to the labour world and other aspects of working life which are closely related to its sphere of competences such as social security, occupational risk prevention, occupational health, and occupational and training.
- Developing PIMEC's participation in different government bodies where we are recognised as the most representative business confederation in Catalonia.
- Participating, developing and advising, directly or indirectly, the interests of all our members large and small in negotiations in which PIMEC participates.
In this sense, this department deals with joint cross-sector negotiations in which the entity participates, whether this be directly or by means of its specialist departments. PIMEC intervenes in joint enterprise agreements, as well as co-ordinated agreements and other types of collective negotiations which are required by our member enterprises:
- Advising the entity's companies on all matters within its competence.
- Collaborating with the governmental bodies concerned with trade and industry which develop new legislation that has to cover a large range of trades and industries. Our collaboration is aimed at protecting the interests, objectives and plans of our business collective.
- Commissioning or participating in studies, specific reports or information leaflets which deal with projects, legal requirements or other matters within our remit and that are of interest to the business confederation.
