Baix Lobregat - L'Hospitalet

The  PIMEC Baix Llobregat - L'Hospitalet  regional office opened in February 2001. At the time, Lluís Muñoz y Casares held the position of president of the Executive Committee, he carried out his tasks with great skill until September 2005, when he resigned for personal reasons and was replaced by Lluís Bahamonde. The latter is one of the oldest members of the territorial Executive Committee, who, after the PIMEC elections in 2007, was named president of PIMEC for Barcelona, and is responsible for coordinating the regional offices. In light of not being able to duly attend both jobs and after carrying out a series of institutional actions which significantly increased the number of members, Lluís Bahamonde gave me the responsibility of president of  PIMEC Baix Llobregat - L'Hospitalet , which I am currently honoured to hold.
The former SEFES was created in the Baix Llobregat more than 30 years ago and that is why this region has the oldest members of PIMEC. Two years ago, a commemorative plaque was presented to the three enterprises which had been members for 30 years.

The Baix Llobregat region is made up of 30 municipalities, in which we represent micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, shops and self-employed workers representing them before all regional government bodies, agencies and other groups in the region. From our Sant Feliu office, we support the regions of Alt Penedés, Garraf and L'Hospitalet, due to proximity.

Our executive committee includes representatives from the trade unions, the PIMEC Baix Llobregat - L'Hospitalet Council for Commerce and entrepreneurs from all sectors of the area of influence, as one of our missions is to gather the queries from all the region's economic sectors, so they can be represented and their interests can defended before the different organisations.

Within the mission and philosophy of our entity and as a renowned employers’ organisation which represents micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, establishments and self-employed workers of Catalonia, PIMEC Baix Llobregat - L'Hospitalet carries out its objectives on a daily basis, with support actions before the regional government bodies, political parties and by means of dialogue with the labour unions.

Problems such as mobility and infrastructures which affect the competitiveness of our enterprises and establishments are being addressed by initiatives such as the recently created Mobility and Infrastructure Forum, in coordination with the Regional Committee, town councils, labour unions, representatives and experts in the territory’s mobility (such as the PTP, Association for the Promotion of Public Transport) and the transport operators, to provide this area with solutions.

Normally, we hold meetings with the political representatives in the territory, to present the interests and needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, which are the passed on to a regional level.

Internationalisation, innovation and training must be the tools which will enable us to successfully face this new economic challenge.  We can provide them with support through the PIMEC service departments, as a small or medium-sized enterprise is unable to access services of this type at an affordable price.
