Priorat

I am pleased to present the PIMEC Priorat regional office in the name of all the members of the Executive Committee and the enterprises which are part of our employers’ organisation. This regional office was opened in October 2008 and it, works to defend the interests and to serve the self-employed workers, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises of the Priorat region. Our region, in spite of having one of the lowest population densities of Catalonia, has always been very dynamic in as far as entrepreneurial activities and the consolidation of a corporate network in different activity sectors, which is made up by more than 600 businesses, mainly self-employed workers and micro enterprises. Our office carries out its institutional task with the local and regional entities, taking part in projects, meetings and action which are of interest for the corporate world. Our technical structure enables us to provide up to date information and support to the entity’s own services and obtain information regarding problems which take place on site.

This region is committed the food industry which is very important for our wines, and includes the agricultural workers as well as the manufacturers and sellers. However, this corporate network also includes the manufacturing and marketing of oil, the rural tourism and restaurant sectors, commerce and construction sectors, with all the industries included in these.  We all work together to uphold the same corporate values which are those that our employers’ organisation defends and represents, and those which I encourage you to become part of.

The objectives of our office are:

1)    Inform the people responsible for politics and administration in the region of the problems which affect the corporate network and provide them with ideas to resolve these problems.

2)    Inform all the associated enterprises of the actions and services that may be of use to them.

3)    Bring the services and actions performed by the employers’ organisation closer to the local enterprises, especially those that have traditionally been less accessible, such as training and consultancy on new technologies and international commerce.

4)    Participate in all meetings and committees which are promoted by public administrations and local entities and include improvements proposals for our region and the competitiveness of its small and medium-sized enterprises.
