In 2005, PIMEC committed itself to creating two regional offices in the Valles occidental region, one of which is located in Sant Cugat del Valles, taking in the municipalities under the influence of the Terrassa Chamber of Commerce, under the name PIMEC VALLES SUD.

Since it was opened, I have been honoured to hold the role of President of the Executive Committee to represent and defend small and medium-sized enterprises, establishments and self-employed workers of these municipalities before the regional government bodies, political parties and trade unions.

Alongside the members of the Executive Committee of this region, we are responsible for and committed to supporting and undertaking the necessary actions for a corporate network which represents 99% of our territory. We represent the family-run enterprise, a historic fact which differentiates Catalonia from the other autonomous communities of Spain.

As an entrepreneur of Rubí, I am aware of the current worries due to the new economic challenge we are facing and this is why I encourage you to contact us. I ensure your needs will be listened to by me as well as by the members of the Executive Committee of PIMEC VALLES SUD. We are established in the region to represent you, and we will pass on your interests to the PIMEC Executive Committee, which represents us at all political levels and holds talks with the Catalonian and European organisations.

PIMEC's main objective as the employers' organisation which represents small and medium-sized enterprises of Catalonia is to defend the interests and represent all micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, establishments and self-employed workers.

In light of this, the entrepreneurs which represent you in this region are carrying out a programme with which we aim to improve our competitiveness which, as we all know, and in words spoken by the president of our body, Josep González, "2007 has been a period of prosperity which has lasted approximately 13 years, our growth being above that of the rest of Europe, with an increase on the GDP of 3.8% and exceeding the EU average (2.9%) and that of the Euro zone (2.7%)”. However, at the moment, the economic scene has changed and we must add to our objectives actions which enable us to maintain and support our corporate network of small and medium-sized enterprises, which Durao Barroso, president of the European Commission, advises  is a source of wealth and jobs.

This is why we are committed to each individual situation being presented to all local, regional and European government bodies in which PIMEC has representation, and to supporting them by means of advice and the services of our own personnel from our various departments. These services may normally represent unaffordable expense for both small and medium-sized enterprises, but they can improve the competitiveness of our members in the Valles Occidental region.
